Around 75,000 students across NSW received their HSC marks on Tuesday morning, while data for schools was provided a little later.

Kinross was the highest ranked school in the region, and 140^th in the state listings, data from the NSW Education Standards Authority shows.

It was followed by MacKillop College (Bathurst) at 196^th, then St Stanislaus' College (Bathurst) at 237 and St John's College (Dubbo) at 238.

Fifth on the list was the recently-merged Scots All Saints College in Bathurst at 319.

Last year, prior to the merge, All Saints' College was the highest ranked school in the Central West and was 104^th in NSW.

Rounding out the top 10 was Hennessy Catholic College (Young) at 328, James Sheahan Catholic High School (Orange) at 341, Red Bend Catholic College (Forbes) at 346 and Dubbo College at 358.

Coming in 10^th place was Mudgee High School at 359.

The data also revealed the number of students at each school who received a Band 6 score.

To compare schools fairly across the Central West, these high scores are expressed as a percentage of total student entries and are called 'success rates'.

Kinross also had the highest success rate of all schools in the region with 12.33 per cent, this was followed MacKillop with 8.17 and St Stanislaus' at 6.75.

Next was St John's College (6.73 per cent), Scots All Saints (4.43), Hennessy (4.13), James Sheahan (3.93), Red Bend (3.83), Dubbo College (3.58) and Mudgee High at 3.55 per cent.
