Tracey Leanne Dawe, 46, of Kenna Street, was stopped by police at 9.30am on August 1 in Moulder Street after her car was picked up by the number plate recognition system due to expired registration.
On analysis she returned a mid-range reading of 0.081.
Dawe told police she shared a cask of wine with a friend.
Solicitor Simeon Miller said Dawe was drinking until she went to bed a 4am.
"She woke up the next day and felt she was OK," Mr Miller said.
However, magistrate David Day said Dawe needed to recalculate how much she had to drink.
"Getting out of bed and felling alright is no excuse to drive," Mr Day said.
Mr Day noted there was nothing about Dawe's driving that drew the attention of police but her offending was aggravated by a previous low-range drink-driving offence.
He gave Dawe a 12-month community correction order, six-month driving-disqualification and 24-month interlock order for the mid-range morning after drink-driving offence.
