Firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW were arrived at the scene of the grass fire on the residential block on the corner of Jilba Street and Nunkeri Place at 4.03pm and extinguished the fire at 4.15pm.
According to police, the owner of the block was constructing a fence and a spark from an angle grinder ignited the dry grass.
Police are reminding people not to use tools that could cause a spark during fire danger periods and if using them not do it alone and have a fire extinguisher or water close by so if a spark does ignite it can be contained.
Orange detectives are still investigating a fire that destroyed an automotive business in March Street on Monday morning.
Police are also still investigating two grass fires that took place about 1.45am near the intersection of Lone Pine Avenue and South Terrace and at Cootes Park on Sunday morning.
A number of leads of inquiry are also being followed into a car fire that took place at Cootes Park at 6.10pm on Friday night.
In another matter, no one was injured when a Mitsubishi Pajero rolled in a single vehicle crash on Pinnacle Road on Tuesday afternoon.
Police were called to what was classed as a minor motor vehicle crash at 3pm.
The Pajero was being driving by an 18-year-old man and his 18-year-old passenger was taken to hospital as a precaution only.
No charges were laid in relation to the crash and due to its classification as minor police are not investigating.
