A pink saree walk was one of the highlights of the fundraiser from Desi members, with the November 9 event a chance for the community to come together to raise money and celebrate diversity.
Diwali, the Indian festival of lights, has become an annual fundraiser from the group and Desi Aussies of Orange's Usa Rani said it was an exciting chance to come together.
"We would like to thank every guest who had accepted our invitation and enjoyed the evening with their participation and everlasting memories," she said.
"The compliments left behind by our guests for the extravagant food supplied by Overlander Indian Restaurant, lovely decorations, mind blowing performances, and the humble service staff at the Function Centre is well received."
Dr Rani said Can Assist, which is an organisation which provides support to those affected by cancer in regional areas, was a "worthwhile cause" for the group to support.
"[They're] a truly local voluntary organisation of a few people who make a big difference to those affected by cancer and their families by providing practical and financial support to people living in country NSW."
She thanked everyone who'd donated.
"We are grateful to the generosity of our sponsors - Orange City Council, Overlander Indian Restaurant, Pizza Hut Orange, The Wellness House, Anita Grocery Store, Molong Medical Centre, The Friendly Grocer Dhanda Bros, Indian Delight, Barrett and Smith, United Petrol and everyone who helped on the day and the night," she said.
"This is the true spirit of locals supporting local businesses and local events."
She said the Desis were looking to continue to put on events in Orange which showcased Indian culture and helped support the community.
"We, Indians of Desi Aussies of Orange feel very honoured to be part of the beautiful Orange community and living in Orange which we now call our home."
