Meatballs packing a punch will be served in trays of six with the fastest consumption of the Caroline Reaper laced dish going on to compete in a regional event.
Children will also have the chance to get involved with an ice cube eating competition and water melon munching with hands tied behind their backs.
The competitions will take place as part of the inaugural Orange Chilli Festival, taking place from 11-5pm this weekend.
The festival will include a range of food trucks, including pizza, dumplings, burgers and desserts, with each vendor putting on a special chilli dish.
Organiser Anna Demasi said chilli eating competitions are taking off across the country and she hopes to launch them around the region, to have city winners go head-to-head.
I thought it'd be something exciting and differenet for Orange," she said. "It's going to be entertaining if nothing else."
The Voice contestant Georgia Sideris will perform a live set, there will be drinks available from the bar and a range of children's activities, including a jumping castle.
A range of retail stalls will also set up at Towac Park for the day on Sunday.
Anyone interested in entering the chilli eating competition can send their name and phone number to chilli@chillicomp.com.au.
The $5 entry fee will be donated to Rural Aid.
