Cementing his place among the Blues' best throughout his side's stunning, comeback series win last year, and then helping the Canberra Raiders to the 2019 NRL grand final where he won the Clive Churchill Medal, Wighton will again step up in rugby league's fiercest cauldron in 2020 after being named in Fittler's 64-strong NSW squad.
Wighton, who spent time in both CYMS' and Bloomfield's junior ranks, is one of a handful of players with links to the west included in the squad, which will take part in a couple of training sessions in December.
Rising Wellington star Kotoni Staggs was also named, as was another Cowboy in the former of rampaging Parramatta winger Blake Ferguson.
Dubbo young-gun Matt Burton was named in Fittler's Emerging Blues squad.
Those two groups will come together for a training session at the NSWRL Centre of Excellence at Sydney on Thursday, December 12.
NSW is gunning to win a third straight State of Origin series in 2020.
