Xanthe Janet Harmer, 40, of Linden Avenue, appealed the severity of the initial jail sentence she was given for high-range drink-driving in Orange District Court last week.
As a result of the appeal, Harmer was given a 12-month community-based intensive correction order, 100 hours of community service and will have to attend alcohol counseling.
During the appeal, Judge Stephen Norrish was presented with information about Harmer's alcohol addiction, treatment for a serious medical condition, relationship breakdown, childhood trauma and personal issues that affected her at the time of her offence.
Harmer was granted appeals bail in Orange Local Court after she was given the original jail sentence for drink-driving with a reading of 0.351 on Molong Road on June 8, when she was subject to an interlock order.
Harmer came to police attention after she stopped five to 10 metres short of the intersection of Burrendong and Molong roads at 9.25pm and slowly turned left and was then unable to stay within her lane on Molong Road.
The interlock order, which prevented her from driving a car that did not have an interlock device fitted in it, was for a previous high-range drink driving offence.
The car she was driving on June 8 did not have an interlock device fitted.
If Harmer breaches the intensive correction order she could serve the rest of her sentence in jail.
