Tracy Hinton has worked with Orange City Council, and councillors Tony Mileto and Jason Hamling, to have the seat near the duck pond become a place for people to sit and remember others who have died, particularly through suicide.
It carries a small plaque with the words 'For those we have lost.'
In Mrs Hinton's case it is her brother Jamie Merchant.
It's such a beautiful place to sit and remember.

"I lost my brother 11 years ago," she said.
"Every year I've always done something to remember him."
She said she had previously undertaken a walk at the Botanic Gardens to raise awareness about suicide, she has also released balloons at Lake Canobolas, and now had helped organise the seat.
"It's just somewhere for people to go and remember someone. It's such a beautiful place to sit and remember," she said.
Mrs Hinton said suicide was a significant problem.
"There has been so many in the surrounding areas of Orange," she said.
"You lose someone to suicide every 40 seconds. That's world-wide. It's pretty full-on."
Mrs Hinton was joined by family members in Cook Park on Sunday to see the seat.
"The council has paid for it," she said.
Mrs Hinton began lobbying for the seat earlier this year.
She said she encountered a woman at the cemetery on one occasion, who could not cope with the anxiety of visiting a grave.
"A lot of people don't go to the cemetery, it can freak people out," she said.
