Corina Kenny sold the Mountain Teahouse three years ago to focus on her 20-year career as a beauty therapist.
But hospitality beckoned when the lease for Hill Street Grab and Go became available.
She will open on December 9.
"I love hospitality and I make awesome pies," Ms Kenny said.
Two of her popular recipes, the steak and pepper and the chicken and mushroom. will once again be placed on the market, along with a gluten-free version of the chicken pie.
She said the location appealed to her because it provided options for people in north Orange on their way into town, particularly once the roundabout at the intersection of Hill Street and Matthews Avenue was complete.
"It's more accessible, I think," she said.
Pick-me-up
AFTER picking cherries at Kelanvale Orchard, owner Kelvin Price says visitors could do with some refreshment.
After public suggestions, Mr Price is building a coffee cart at the Borenore orchard, converted from a truck cool room.
"My girls got on the band wagon and said, 'Dad, we need a coffee cart'," he said.
He said cherries were already being picked at the orchard, but public picking days would start in early December.
Apprenticeships
TRAINING provider Verto will provide help to apprentices free of charge after signing a deal with the federal government.
Verto chief executive Ron Maxwell said the provider had been selected to provide Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) services from 2020 to 2022 across NSW.
"Verto will continue to be a one-stop-shop for apprentices and employers as they will job match, provide advice about training options, facilitate personalised mentoring to at-risk apprentices, and facilitate all paper work associated with employer incentives and Trade Support Loans," he said.
Mr Maxwell said the AASN program would focus on boosting commencement and completion rates by using psychometric testing to ensure positions were the best fit for the apprentice and the employer.
