"With the heavy smoke around today, we would like to remind those with respiratory issues to take extra care," the NSW Ambulance warning states.
"Please remember if you have a pre-existing medical condition make sure you have all your medications with you and readily available."
At 8am, Orange had the most hazardous air quality in the region with a level of 1437, while Bathurst's was 536.
For anyone heading towards Sydney, the air quality around Richmond is rated as 'good' by the Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH).
Everyone in the Central West is urged to cut back on outdoor physical activities, a warning from the OEH states.
"People with heart or lung disease should avoid outdoor exertion and stay inside as much as possible," the alert states.

"If you have symptoms rest and use your reliever medicine.
"If symptoms persist, seek medical advice."
