Ford Driving Skills for Life training program instructors will show drivers skills with hands-on cycling virtual reality simulations, braking and stability control in a controlled environment and wearing the Ford Impairment Suit which mimics the affects alcohol has on people.
It is the first time the course has been offered in Orange.
Ford is partnering with the Amy Gillett Foundation in the program to improve driver techniques that will improve road safety for cyclists.
That includes drivers being shown the 'Dutch Reach', where drivers use their left hand to open the car door.
It forces drivers to look behind and check for cyclists to reduce injuries from doorings.
Two sessions, at 8.30am and 12.30pm, will be held at the Orange Go Kart track. Go to forddsfl.com.au to register.
