This will be the summer feature, alongside Bill Moseley's exhibition A Lake, a Forest and the Dark Voice of the Sea.
Auld's survey provides a comprehensive account of her work from the 1970s to today. Over the past four decades she has been prolific, producing a compelling body of work from her nearby studio at Borenore, NSW. The exhibition will introduce previously unseen works alongside familiar pieces in a new context.
This is the first time an exhibition of this scope has been presented of Auld's work and I am grateful to her for her enthusiasm and support for the project.
Lucy Stranger joined the gallery as curator and exhibitions co-ordinator at the beginning of September and has been working closely with Auld to evolve initial concepts into what's shaping up to be a striking survey of one of the region's most significant artists.
To coincide with the exhibition, the gallery is producing a 100-page exhibition catalogue with an extended essay by Lucy based on interviews with the artist and high-quality photographs by Rob Little and John Daly. Included are insightful contributions by Dr Andrew Flatau and artist Tim Winters.
The opening at 6pm on Friday, December 13 follows a Q&A between Ros Auld and Tim Winters at 5.30pm.
