Mr Roweth, who still coaches at and manages the courts at the Spring Hill Recreation Ground, was a nominee for the Individual Excellence in Crown Land Management category.
Presented with his nomination in front of 250 guests from across NSW and the ACT, the volunteer land manager was just one of hundreds recognised at the awards night, which was the culmination of a tremendously successful year for the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment.
Mullumbimby's Arthur Hatch won the category.
Other winners on the night were, the Cowra Showground, Racecourse and Paceway Trust (Crown Land Manager Excellence Award) and Trundle's John Southon (TransGrid Leadership Award) and Koonambil Aged Care Ltd of Coonamble (Prime Super Employer Excellence in Aged Care Award).
Winners each received either $2,000.
