ORANGE Theatre Company is set to return to full strength for the 2020 season after a tough 12 months.
Company members performed songs from Mamma Mia: The Musical and Beauty and the Beast on Tuesday at Orange Civic Theatre's subscription season announcement, with the news the shows would run for three weekends and two weekends respectively.
"We were in a position where we weren't sure we could continue as a company," she said.
She said the shorter runs created more urgency in ticket sales and both shows sold well, with fundraisers and school holiday workshops creating other revenue streams.
Crucially, OTC was able to clear its loan from Orange City Council for its storage shed, meaning this season's tickets will be cheaper, with adult tickets falling to from $52.50 to $49.
"It's just our way of giving back," Miss Burgess said.
"The council were fantastic in working with us - they reduced our loan payments and this year we paid off that loan in full."
She said OTC would be the first amateur company west of the Blue Mountains to stage Mamma Mia - auditions for the production will be held in December.
