Emma Bradford has started an appeal for toys, bedding and toiletries to help those who have been evacuated or lost their homes.
But before the collection can officially begin, Ms Bradford said she needed a courier to donate transport.
"I'm after anyone who drives between Orange and the Mid North Coast, even if they do furniture removal," she said.
Ms Bradford has friends in the area and was spurred to act.

"I think we should help because they would help us in a similar situation," she said.
She made contact with Taree mayor David West, who directed her to the city's Lions club.
The club has agreed to receive the donations - Ms Bradford said said although the club had received a lot of clothing already, clothing donations were still welcome.
