The driver aged in his mid 60s was subject to drug and alcohol testing at around 10.30am on Monday, which was taken in for further analysis.
Chief Inspector Peter Atkins said the man was uninjured and police have commenced an investigation into circumstances surrounding the accident.
In a separate incident on Monday night, police pursued a driver who failed to stop when signalled to on Leeds Parade at 6.30pm.
Police chased the vehicle for several minutes before the pursuit concluded on Melville Place.
The man was charged with driving related offences and will appear before court on December 16.
Two cars were also left with shattered windows after a series of break-ins across East Orange on Monday night.
A black Nissan Micra was broken into on Moad Street between 8pm on Monday and 6.50am on Tuesday, with entry gained via a smashed window and a pair of sunglasses stolen.
While a silver Toyota Landcruiser was also damaged on Glenroi Avenue just before midnight on Monday. One of the Landcruiser's windows was also smashed.
Meanwhile on Monday, a 26-year-old man was arrested in relation to two outstanding domestic violence warrants.
A 31-year-old man was also charged with stalking and resist arrest in a separate matter. Police will allege the man made threats to harm a 19-year-old female in a domestic violence related incident and will front Orange Local Court on Tuesday.
In another matter, a fence was damaged on Young Street last week.
