The Great Western Highway has reopened in both directions at Katoomba after an earlier car crash which brought down overhead wires.
The car had collided with a power pole on the highway at Explorers Road. The crash site has now been cleared.
Traffic remains heavy in both directions of the highway, although the diversion in place earlier has been lifted.
Motorists should allow extra travel time while traffic conditions return to normal.
EARLIER:
The Great Western Highway has been closed in both directions due to a car crash at Katoomba on Thursday morning, November 7.
Motorists have been advised by Live Traffic NSW to use the Bells Line of Road as an alternative route.
Emergency services are now on site near Explorers Road.
The crash occurred at about 9.25am.
Traffic has been urged to avoid the area.
