Ian Paul Wenham, 38, of Mathoura Place, was initially given an 18-month intensive correction order in Orange Local Court.
However, on appeal his sentence was changed to an 18-month community corrections order with a requirement he abstain from alcohol and take part in treatment programs.
However, in another appeal, Aaron Schuberth, who destroyed a ute by setting it on fire in Orange in April, about six days after he stole the ute from Dubbo has appealed his jail sentence.
The total jail term of three years and three months was upheld in Orange District Court.
However, the 18-month non-parole period that was given to Aaron Schuberth, 26, formerly of Kurim Avenue, was reduced to 12 months.
He had spent almost three months in custody and has a new parole release date of July, 2020.
