The utility was set alight in Cootes Park just before 4am on Sunday, and a council spokesperson confirmed the vehicle was set alight.
The vehicle was completely destroyed and police have launched an investigation into the incident, but neither council nor police confirmed which location the ute had been stolen from.
"Police are appealing for information after a vehicle was destroyed by fire in the state's Central West," a Central West Police District spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, a teenager has been airlifted to hospital following an accident at the Orange Mountain Bike trails on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to the location, near Lake Canobolas, after the 15-year-old fell from his bike on one of the bike trails while navigating a jump.
He was treated at the scene for suspected neck injuries before being taken to Orange hospital by ambulance, before later being flown to Sydney.
His condition is currently unknown.
In a further incident over the weekend, police are investigating after a Volkswagen Amarok was stolen from an address in Orange before being involved in a pursuit along the Mitchell Highway.
Officers commenced a pursuit at about 4am on Sunday, but terminated it a short time later.
However, the vehicle was discovered by police abandoned in Gona Street.
It was towed from the scene and will undergo forensic examination as investigations continue.
