Highly commended awards were given to the former Carrington Hotel refurbishment, the Orange Hospital Auxiliary and the Ploughmans Wetlands CareGroup.

With Orange City Council projects previously performing well at the awards, Tidy Towns committee chair and councillor Kevin Duffy said the pool of contenders this year was very different.
"It was driven by the volunteers of those organisations," he said.
Orange came second to Murrurundi overall.
Cr Duffy said he gained inspiration from Queanbeyan, which won an award for waste management at a festival by manning their bins.
"We have A Day on the Green coming up and that's something we should be looking at."
