Almighty Industries successfully bid to fit out 120 Isuzu D-MAXs with rear storage units during the next three years.

Taking 90 hours each to build, they will feature automatic internal lighting, door sensors, storage drawers, ladders, plus a special coating to ensure they were corrosion-resistant.

The general use utilities will be supplied to SES volunteer units across the state.

Owners Todd and Jenny Raffen said they became aware of the work through an online tender site.

"We had done similar work before for Komatsu and Downer and RMS, so we knew we had the capacity to do it," Mrs Raffen said.

The couple have hired eight more employees to handle the task from next week, including one apprentice, taking the business' total workforce to 60.

"It's great to be able to support 60 local families," Mr Raffen said.

Mrs Raffen said being able to provide an "end-to-end solution" set them apart.

"We do everything in-house - the only thing we have outsourced on this is the sign-writing, which has gone to another local business, McSigns," she said.

Minister for Emergency Services David Elliott said while politicians had no involvement in the tender process, it was satisfying it had gone to a regional company, especially during drought.

"The overall government strategy of decentralisation out of Sydney is serviced very well when these contracts go to a regional centre because it's not just Almighty Industries that benefits, it's the multiplier effect," he said.

"We just can't continue to throw everything in Sydney - I'll certainty concur that products out of of regional NSW are very rarely questionable, [it] has a very good reputation for quality."

SES Deputy Commissioner Fatima Abbas said some of the trucks to be replaced dated back to 1979.

"They still get a lot of use out of them but it's good to give them a new one," she said.

Member for Orange Phil Donato said it was fantastic opportunity.

"I'm so proud of a family company like Almighty being awarded the contract, it will make a difference to the local workforce, the local community and the local businesses," he said.
