The choir has announced Eric Bogle will be joining them for two shows on November 8 and 9 alongside guest conductor Paul Jarman.
Choir music director Barry Patterson said Bogle was an "iconic" folk musician and the group was rapt to have him perform with them onstage.
"Quite a few guys in the choir are lovers of Eric music," he said.
"We'll do a set of songs with Paul Jarman to open the concert then we'll bring Eric on to do his own set for about 50 minutes."
Initially the plan was to perform an Eric Bogle tribute concert, but Mr Jarman's offhand comment of 'wouldn't it be amazing if we could get him' sparked a thought from choir member Ken Fishpool.
"I hopped onto Facebook and shot him a message and invited him to come and join us and he agreed," he said.
The two performances, on a Friday and Saturday night, will both feature the same musical programming but one will be at Bloomfield Hall for a "cabaret" style event with a light supper and more relaxed feel, while the second performance will be a more formal concert at the Orange Civic Theatre.
Tickets are available through Ticketek.
