The newly-established Centrals White side were sent in on a sticky wicket and knocked up a promising, competitive 146, although the more-experienced Wanderers successfully chased comfortably, winning with almost 20 overs to spare.
In his first game for the club Logan Buckley punched out a game-high 45 from the top of the order for Centrals White, although outside Rowan Dray (20) and Adam Danielson (26) were the only others to make any real inroads.
Gareth Faul (3-20) and Nic Freedman (2-20) were the Wanderers' best with the ball, while Damien Caughlan (37) and Luke McEvoy (34) did the bulk of the damage in the chase.
The red and blacks also picked up a win Second Grade, with skipper Kyle Nonnenmacher and wily leg-spinner Matt Ripps leading the side to a 70-run victory over Kinross.
After his side was left reeling at 2-9, Nonnenmacher set about resurrecting the innings and top scored with 39 while Adam Shepherd (32), Ben Winslade (26) and Brenton Anthony (29 not out) all chipped in through the middle order.
On a slow, low Riawena Oval wicket Ripps made the most of the conditions, spinning his way to a first-round haul of 4-21 as Kinross managed just 98 in reply, Roshan Eiseman (3-23) and Winslade (2-14) also took multiple scalps.
CYMS landed a huge blow in the other round on Second Grade clash too, knocking off last year's beaten grand finalists in Cavaliers by three wickets.
The maroons' 4-178 didn't prove enough at Country Club Oval as Matt Baker (55) knocked up a half-ton to lead CYMS' successful chase. Andrew Henry (34) and Rohan Bouffler (24) supported well to steer the green and golds home with seven overs to spare.
Alex Little (56) notched a half century to lead Spring Hill to a win over Orange City in Third Grade too, the Wood Ducks' entire middle order contributing well as they ran down the Warriors' 7-175 with two wickets and two overs to spare.
In the two other Third Grade games Cavaliers (7-99) edged past CYMS Kellys (94) while Gladstone (186) took down CYMS Bourkes (158), despite Abi Kaithamangalathu's unbeaten knock of 59.
The Centenary Cup season starts on Saturday as the Second and Third Grade seasons continue.
