Mr Lacey, who lives and works in Orange, was last seen on September 27 and, his family says, hasn't contacted anyone since, nor used any of his social media platforms.
His mother Zoe said he had been reported as missing to police after not attending commitments on September 28 and 29 which were "out of character to have missed".
Mr Lacey had lived and worked in Sydney, Victoria, the hinterland of the Gold Coast and the NSW South Coast, but has "never disappeared without a trace".
He isn't believed to have had access to a car.
... we just needs to know he's okay and if there's anything we can do to help
- Zoe Lacey, the mother of missing man Ashley Lacey
Mrs Lacey said he was "a passionate young man who totally loves his little sister".
She urged anyone who has had an interaction with her son in the days leading up to his disappearance to come forward with information, no matter how trivial they may seem.
"If there was anything unusual or different about their last interaction however insignificant it may seem, could they inform police or ourselves," she said.
"If you have heard from or about him or seen him since Saturday the 28th of September or even have an idea where he might be could you please contact ourselves or the police as soon as possible."
She said she doubted he'd seen any pleas for information considering he's been off social media, but aid the family "just needs to know he's okay and if there's anything we can do to help".
