The Orange Society of Model Engineers will run its annual charity public running day from 1pm.
Rides on the tiny trains will cost $2, with the society choosing all proceeds to go to Orange Push for Palliative.
With four palliative end of life care beds established at Uniting Parkwood in Prince Street in March, the not-for-profit has been working with Uniting Care, Orange North Rotary and Orange City Council to create a garden sanctuary at the facility.
The garden is intended to cater for palliative care patients, their families and the residents of Parkwood.
Push for Palliative chair Jenny Hazelton said the organisation was thrilled to be considered for the charity day.
"They're a group of wonderfully generous people," she said.

"We haven't been a fundraising organisation in the past, more an advocacy organisation, but we need to get the garden going."
Mrs Hazelton said feedback from the palliative car ward trial, which wraps up in March, had been positive.
"It's a great resource for the community to have and people who are using it are really happy to have that option," she said.
Push For Palliative had previously lobbied for four years to reestablish the designated palliative care beds lost when the former Orange base hospital moved to Bloomfield.
All passengers must wear fully enclosed footwear to ride the trains.
All other donations of $2 and higher made on the day will be tax deductible.
