Orange 360 general manager Caddie Marshall said there were only a few motel rooms left by Wednesday morning and bed and breakfasts and Air BnBs were also doing well.
"What we've learn't over the many years of Bathurst 1000 history is that Orange and the surrounding villages do benefit from the Bathurst 1000, mainly in terms of accommodation but also in terms of restaurants," Ms Marshall said.
Ms Marshall said some people come to Orange to eat because they find they don't have as long to wait as they would in Bathurst and for others it is part of their annual Bathurst 1000 routine.
"What we also see is couple are coming up for the race, the men go to the race and the women like to shop at Millthorpe and Orange," she said.
The Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 starts on Thursday and the main V8 race will be on Sunday.
