Chase Gant-Evans and Llewelyn Elliott walked from Yeoval to Wellington on Monday, a 40 kilometre trek to claim their Maccas vouchers.

With a backpack packed with muesli bars, sandwiches and water, the boys set off for the school holiday stroll in their skate shoes and caps.

Despite "sore legs" upon finishing, the boys are now tackling a Yeoval to Orange McDonald's trek next week.

On Monday, the 17 year-old and 16 year-old Yeoval Central School students will attempt the 81-kilometre walk to claim their next set of free frozen cokes.

With a support crew cheering them along, the duo have set up a page to fund raise for farmers.

Chase said the decision for the Yeoval to Wellington walk was made without too much prior planning.

"It started off as a joke," he said. "We were looking for something to do and we couldn't think of anything so we went for a walk."

The boys said they go to gym at school before class twice a week so they're "pretty fit" but might stretch a little prior to next weeks' hike.

Llewelyn said despite running out of things to talk about, the long-dusty walk hadn't been too bad.

"It's just after we sat down it hurt," he said.

"Last time we had no plan at all, we just knew which way to walk."

When McDonald's staff in Wellington heard about the boys long wander to lunch, they threw in a couple of free cheeseburgers to go with their drinks.

Chase said he's hoping for a similar reception in Orange.

His auntie Kristy Thompson has reached out to north Orange McDonald's where the boys will finish up.

McDonald's have agreed to provide water and cookies at the checkpoints halfway between each town, which will be manned by Chase and Llewelyn's family members.

McDonald's north Orange licensee Todd Bryant said the boys could also count on lunch when they arrived.

"Congratulations to these boys for a tremendous effort and raising money for such a worthy cause," he said

"McDonald's in Orange will of course treat them to Cheeseburgers and will contribute a donation to their fundraiser when they arrive in restaurant."

The boys plan to leave Yeoval at 10pm on Sunday to walk through the night and arrive in Orange some time after 3pm on Monday.

Chase said, in addition to a support crew keeping them safe, this time they might do a little more preparation.

"I'm thinking a high-carb diet," he said. "A few walks around town in the lead up. Might do some stretching," he said.
