Kinetic sculptures and animations spanning Mr Mountford's 15-year-career will be on show at the gallery until December 1.
Mr Mountford, who was in Orange on Friday to launch the show and participated in a workshop on Saturday, said he used stick figures as a way to engage with complex themes.
His works often include stick figures in paintings
"The exhibition and the works themselves operate on multiple levels through a combination of technical execution, humour, history and self-reflexive response," he said.
"I feel the 'relatability' present in the works acts as a gateway to engage with the more challenging conversations about what art is and how it might operate'."
I think it's extraordinary. It's got so much depth and it's extraordinarily evocative ... I recommend anyone go and see it.
