All families are invited to enrol in the programs which are created for school-aged children.
The whole day activities have a maximum capacity of 40 children, at a cost of $35-$45.
First up will be an excursion to Federal Falls, with the NSW Rural Fire Service taking two trucks along to the campground on Monday to demonstrate what they do.
The children will get the chance to climb aboard, try on the gear and, weather permitting, assist in lighting a camp fire and cooking some damper.
On Wednesday, Nature Kids will be at the Botanic Gardens doing nature-based activities, including a yoga session and playing musical instruments.
On October 8, they'll be taking an excursion to the Borenore Caves with Gerald Power who will cook bush tucker.
An indigenous dance group will teach music and dance and about the significance of the site to Aboriginal people.
Sue Clarke from Netwaste will also head along to the caves to do a quiz show about waste with the children.
On October 9, the Orange Nature Kids will head to Gosling Creek with Orange City Council engagement officer Will Josh doing a plant and weed identification walk and seed collecting.
A committee made up of the Environmentally Concerned Citizens of Orange's Nick King and Kate Willoughby, Bissy's Cafe's Fiona Rossiter and Futuring Orange's Kate Hook created Orange Nature Kids as an alternative to the school holiday programs being offered.
Ms Willoughby said with all the reports of how sedentary children have become they came up with a way to get them active.
"It's an opportunity to get them out of the house and in nature learning about the environment," she said.
Families can book through the Orange Nature Kids website.
