Regional Transport Minister Paul Toole has finally confirmed public transport coach links from Orange to the new Bathurst Bullet train.

And he announced the links will be extended to weekend services for both Bathurst Bullet trains, effectively providing Orange passengers with two daily morning city departures and two return services at night.

Under the new timetable buses will depart Orange at 4.55am and 6.30am to connect with the direct Bathurst-Central trains on weekdays.

The return services will arrive in Orange at 8pm and 10.45pm weekdays.

On weekends the buses will leave Orange at 4.52am and 6.30am and return at 7.50pm on both days, 10.29pm on Sundays and 10.45pm on Saturdays.

Mr Toole said the government had been working to deliver the extra services.

"We've delivered that and more, with the connecting coach service also set to operate on weekends," he said.

"These services are not just for regional passengers. They also create more opportunities for Sydneysiders to get out and visit our great regional towns."

Passengers will need to book a seat on the coaches.

"Commuters will still be able to access integrated ticketing with this connection, meaning they just need the one ticket to travel from Orange all the way through to Sydney," he said.

Passengers also have the option of using their Opal card for the Bathurst-Sydney train.

Mr Toole said NSW Trainlink had partnered with Orange coach operator Australia Wide Coaches to provide the connection to the second Bullet train.

The second Bullet train service started on Monday September 16.

The small communities of Tarana and Rydal have benefitted from the new service with both Bullet trains now stopping at their towns.

They now both have more daily train services than Orange.

Member for Orange Phil Donato has welcomed the new coach services.

However, he said Orange needed more train services and would continue to campaign for them.

The Bathurst Bullet trains currently travel back to Lithgow each night for servicing and stabling.
