Team 1 Keegan started strong beating Team 5 Dickson with wins for the Knights No.1 supporter Jesse Keegan, Kynan Baker, Jarrod Collett, Tony Elliot, Brett Mahlo, Lyle Davis, Brendan Stuart, Chris Doucas and Lindsay Mahlo won a thriller in five, while Lachie Dickson had his first win in 12 weeks beating a gallant Catherine White in five games.
The result hangs in the balance between Team 2 Atkinson and Team 4 Cavalli with the last match to be played later this week but meanwhile there were wins for Glenn Atkinson, Frank Cavalli, Mark James, Dave Neil, Sonya Fitzgerald, Matt Showels and a spiteful Tim Howarth, while former Backstreet Boys member Nathan Kelly made a comeback to squash after a 10-year spell.
Nathan's fitness may be suffering but his wizardry with his racket skills still linger upsetting an upset Kial Huysmans in five.
In the battle of master and apprentice master John Hannan half a century wiser than his opponent apprentice Albert Nadal Cavalli played out an epic with Albert's fitness proving the difference winning in five.
Team 6 Abberton upset competition favourites Team 3 Baker with wins for Toby Baker over a sluggish Grant Michell, Morgan Mahlo, Michael Abberton, Graham Kidson, Scott Shepherd, Robyn Chapman, Steve Blackwood, Luke Tester and Scott Baker had the best win of his career upsetting a down on confidence Mark Goes 3-nil, while Belinda Thurtell started packing up her gear after storming to a two game lead not sure if her opponent Bob Ryan would return to the court to finish the match, but whatever was in Bob's Powerade did the trick.
He stormed home to win in five leaving Belinda a dejected figure.
