It's a call for teens to unite for just two hours to empathise with the struggles of our planet and all its inhabitants.
Australia's first climate strike took place in November 2018 when school students in central Victoria issued an invitation to others who shared concerns that politicians weren't doing enough about climate change.
Inspired by 15-year-old Swedish student, Greta Thunberg, who first went on strike in August 2018, the Victorian students and 15,000 of their peers participated in the first Australian rally.
In March 2019, 150,000 joined the cause as part of 1.6 million worldwide climate action strike.
Why is it so important? In just 10 years, before we're even 30, without dramatic change the planet will reach a point of irreparability that will leave our world's climate in a state of complete disrepair.
Not only will our futures be potentially destroyed, but so too will those of future generations.
This is at the very core of our futures, so it would be irresponsible to ignore an opportunity to join others to raise a voice to our current leaders
Now is a time to take action alongside communities that are leading the world into the future.
Orange, and Australia as a whole, needs to take up the leadership role it has been offered.
We can be the core of saving our future, by providing a strong home base on which our community can build to fight emissions on national and international scales.
This begins at the grassroots level.
Please stand beside your children, sign petitions, make your and our voices heard.
The most important thing we can ask is that you not only listen, but let others hear us too.
Without action now, we cannot guarantee our futures - the futures of the children who are and will soon be teenagers and young adults, who will soon inherit everything you (we) have built.
The Global #ClimateStrike on September 20 is three days before world leaders meet in New York for an Emergency UN Climate Summit.
In the words of Sir David Attenborough: "Never before have we had such an awareness of what we are doing to the planet, and never before have we had the power to do something about that ... the future of humanity, and, indeed, all life on earth, now depends on us."
