The 'Club House Rescue' grants awarded $5000 to eight clubs across the country, with the money set aside for Orange going towards repainting and upgrading their amenities block - which is currently shared between Waratahs, Orange City and Orange Tigers - and upgrading the canteen.

The grants were put together by Corteva Agriscience and Triple M, with the radio station helping collate votes to help decide which club needed the money the most.

Corteva Agriscience marketing director Dan Dixon said it was important to help sporting clubs across the country.

"They're the heart and soul of farming communities Australia-wide but too often the local sporting club can be the most neglected building in town," he said.

"Sports clubs were asked to visit their local Triple M website to explain why they needed a $5,000 cash boost and how the money would be spent.

"Hundreds of clubs entered from a wide range of sports. It was hard to narrow it down and we congratulate the eight winners."

Mr Dixon said it was aimed to help communities hit by drought, with sport proving a crucial activity.

"Sport can offer a great stress relief, even if you aren't actually playing," he said.

"Just to go along and socialise and be a part of something can go a long way to positive mental health.

"We're proud to be able to contribute a small part in helping revive and renovate much needed facilities."
