Monday's top temperature of six degrees celcius was nine degrees cooler than average for September, with the feels-like temperature barely creeping over zero all day.
As a result the dangerous conditions on the Mount remain cause for concern.
Staff will conduct further inspections on Tuesday afternoon to determine when the roads can be reopened, with the mercury to peak at 13 degrees.
That top temperature is set to rise further this week in Orange, with tops of 17 degrees and 18 degrees on Thursday and Friday before a top of 20 degrees Celcius next Monday.
