Police are appealing for more information following a terrifying, armed home invasion in Orange on Saturday.
About 12.50am on Saturday morning, three armed offenders forced entry to a home on Woodward Street at Orange where they demanded money and property from the occupants.
The male and female occupants were woken by a man armed with a machete and a knife demanding property.
A second man and a woman threatened the male occupant, who was then struck with the machete causing a superficial injury to his left shoulder.
Police have been told one man stayed at the doorway of the victims' bedroom as the other two offenders stole electrical items from throughout the home.
The three offenders left the premises and police were notified.
It's believed the couple's two small children were home at the time but remained asleep through the ordeal.
Officers attached to Central West Police District arrived a short time later and established a crime scene, where Orange Detectives and Bathurst Crime Scene attended and processed the scene.
One offender is described as being male of a stocky build, 175 centimetres tall with short, dark hair and about 40 years old. He was wearing a dark jacket with a hood and long dark trousers.

A couple was woken by two men and a woman in a bedroom of their Woodward Street home demanding money and other items early on Saturday morning.
Chief Inspector Harvey said a 32-year-old man was assaulted by one of the three with "an object" and suffered a minor injury to his left shoulder.
Chief Inspector Harvey said one of the thieves stayed at the bedroom door while the other two ransacked the house and stole a number of electrical items including the male victim's mobile phone.
Chief Inspector Harvey said the woman was described as having "frizzy hair" and wearing a hoodie.
"The two males were armed with various implements," he said.
