The colleagues - both teachers - will be lining up against each other in the Group 10 league tag preliminary final on Sunday and the pair are expecting to send some friendly barbs each others' way out on the field.
The pair - Ford playing for Hawks and Goodwin with CYMS - have been gently ribbing each other "daily" in the lead-up to the clash.
I think we give it to each other, a bit of friendly banter's always good.
- CYMS No.3 Emily Goodwin
"Every minute of every day," Ford said grinning.
Neither has wanted to fire an opening blow from CYMS and Hawks' three clashes so far this year, but the floodgates of banter and practical jokes will open after Sunday's game.
The pair admitted they exchanged a few cheeky comments on the field too, but Goodwin and Ford don't cross paths on the field a whole lot.
"We don't see each other a whole lot, I like to give her a cheeky kick every now and then-," the Hawks' kicker started before being cut off.
"Every now then? All the time!" Goodwin interjected before continuing.
"I think we give it to each other, a bit of friendly banter's always good."
The CYMS No.3 said she was "really excited" for Sunday's match-up, but admitted she was a little nervous.
"We'd obviously love the win but it'll be great for an Orange team to get into the grand final and represent women's league tag," Goodwin said.
Despite falling 18-8 in the opening week of finals to Hawks, CYMS battled back with a 26-10 win over Blayney last week to make the preliminary final but Goodwin said the greens haven't changed much.
"We haven't done anything really different, keep to what we've done all year," she said.
Ford rejected the idea her Hawks side - coming off a loss to St Pat's - would be going in as the team to beat despite beating CYMS a fortnight ago.
"We've both got quality sides and some really good young talent in both sides which is really good to see for women's rugby league around here," Ford said.
"Obviously we'd like the win but I don't think we're going in as favourites, I reckon whoever turns up on the day and plays their best footy.
"We haven't changed a whole lot, just a few things which'll get us through our sets and get some kicks in."
She turned to Goodwin, standing next to her, and with a smile said "of course I can't reveal too much".
"No, feel free," her colleague shot back - grinning a grin that'll likely be seen on Sunday.
Their match begins at 11am on Sunday at Wade Park.
