Camino Skies documents the journey of six people selected by filmmakers to take part in the trek through France and Spain.
Aged between 50 and 80, the six (almost) strangers put their mental and physical strength to the test over the course of their 42 day journey, all captured on film.
The men and women from Australia and New Zealand battle the pain of broken bodies and brains with too much time to think, as they take the trek which attracts thousands of hikers from around the world annually.
Co-director Fergus Grady said while there were a couple of testing moments for the stars and the production crew, a team of three tasked with keeping the group fed, sheltered and safe throughout the trip, everyone came home as friends.
Mr Grady said he and co-producer Noel Smyth were attracted to the Camino as the perfect place to film interesting subject matter.
"It's a really interesting place for emotional and physical exploration and observing the different ways everyone is able to endure the pain of those things," he said.
Mr Grady will travel to Orange on Friday to speak to audiences about filming the expedition and the characters who have contributed to Camino Skies' success.
Camino Skies will be screened at Odeon 5 from 6pm, with a Q&A from Mr Grady at 7.20pm. Visit Facebook event page for tickets.
