Councillor Tony Mileto will raise his hand again chairing the infrastructure and economic development committees during the past two years, saying he wanted to oversee a cohesive council.
"I think I've got the qualities," he said.
Incumbent deputy mayor Sam Romano will recontest the role, saying he thought he had done a good job for the past year and vowing to put recreation at Spring Creek Dam back on the agenda.

Councillor Jeff Whitton said he had not contested for a number of years, but his focus would be attracting businesses to the city and promoting job creation.
"I've always been a 'back to basics'-type of councillor," he said.
Councillor Scott Munro said he would give the role another tilt, saying it was his intention to "keep them honest".
Councillors Glenn Taylor, Jason Hamling, Russell Turner, Joanne McRae and Stephen Nugent confirmed they would not stand, while Kevin Duffy and Mario Previtera could not be reached on Monday for comment.
While many ratepayers were disappointed after Cr McRae lost last year's vote to Cr Romano, she said cartilage and ligament damage to her ankle would keep her from recontesting.
"It looks like needing surgery and rehabilitation - I hold myself to a high standard and I wouldn't be able to do the job the way I expect it to be done," she said.
Reg Kidd will remain in the mayoral seat after being directly elected by ratepayers in 2017.
The coming year is set to be a period of renewal for the council, with councillors to appoint a general manager on Tuesday night after Garry Styles resigned in May.
The selection panel interviewed candidates on Monday.
The general manager will then select a replacement for Mark Burdack, who vacated the corporate and commercial services director's role shortly after Mr Styles left.
