Introduced in 2018, the Million Dollar Chase will see greyhounds from all across NSW compete for a place in the final at Wentworth Park on October 18, with the prize being, as the name suggests, $1 million.
Bathurst will be one of 14 regional centres hosting heats and finals, and this year those events will supply 56 of the 64 semi-finalists.
The other eight semi-final places will be decided from eight 'last chance' city qualifiers at Wentworth Park on October 5.
Kennerson Park racing manager Jason Lyne said the event provides a great chance for a Central West trainers to have a crack at winning big.
"It's sensational, absolutely sensational," Mr Lyne said on the event.
"I know a few are pretty excited and if they can get through to Saturday night, there'll be a lot of nerves."
The four fastest dogs in both heats will qualify for the final on Saturday, September 7.
To have the chance to qualify for the semi-finals in your own backyard, I think it's an amazing opportunity.

The four fastest in the final will then qualify to the semi-finals at Wentworth Park.
"To have the chance to qualify for the semi-finals in your own backyard, I think it's an amazing opportunity," he said.
Mr Lyne said nine of the 16 runners for Monday's heats are Central West-based, which he described as "great" for greyhound racing in the region.
The nine Central West-based dogs include Double Up Dee (Paul Braddon, Cowra), My Mate Fox (Peter Barnes, Portland), Fernando Porche (Paul Roach, Lidsdale), Midnight Joyce (Mark Swift, Lithgow), Buck's Future (Sydney Swain, Clarence), Wolf Bear (Paul Steedman, Lidsdale), Irinka Lizzy and Solar Sky (Raymond Smith, Forbes) and Sahalee (Glen Quirk, Lidsdale).
Mr Lyne said Double Up Dee has one of the best chances to qualify through to the semi-finals at Wentworth Park, already holding the 450 metres track record at Kennerson Park.
"He's a classy dog, just poorly draw at box seven," he said.
The first heat starts at 6.06pm, while the second heat starts at 6.28pm.
