To be held at Molong Golf Course over the October long weekend, the tournament will bring over 70 competitors from across Australia to the region.
It's the first time the event has been held in the region, while Cabonne Council has pitched in $500 for Central West Disc Golf to help run the event.
Central West Disc Golf president Kevin Costa said people would be spending nearly a week in Molong, with the Thursday a set-up day at the golf course and the Monday a public holiday.
He said it was an exciting move for the fast-growing sport in the region, which fast gaining popularity - especially in at Molong Central School and throughout the town.
Disc golf follows the same rules as regular golf, but using Frisbee-like discs, which are thrown towards a 40-centimetre wide basket elevated about a metre and a half above the ground.
Golfers carry up to 20 different discs around the course, with smaller 'putters' akin to regular Frisbees, while 'drivers' have sharper edges and fly further, with different discs slanting in different directions.
Events will kick off on October 5.
