Face 2 Face event coordinator Justine Hall came up with the idea of the casual event after experiencing first hand the trials of online dating before she met her partner at a party.
"I went to a party, I was the third wheel with my sister and brother-in-law, I didn't want to go but I went and that's how I met my new partner," Mrs Hall said.
"I was doing online [dating] and I hated it, it made me feel more lonely.
[There's] no pressure, just come and have a dance and mingle.

"I'm not anti it, it's good for some people but I just found it didn't work for me."
She said getting out and meeting people would also be good for people's mental health.
"People are glued to their computers now and are not able to have proper conversations any more," she said.
"I think if you are talking to someone online for a month you need to meet earlier .. they could be talking to two or three other people as well."
No one's going to knock on your door if that's what you're after, get yourself out there and have some fun.

Mrs Hall said she planned to run the event for single people aged over 30 but after getting a lot of inquiries from people aged under 30 she was willing to broaden the age range.
However, while there are some people registered already Mrs Hall is urging more men to attend.
"I know men have a hard time online too," she said.
She said the event would be a casual night out with a complimentary drink on arrival, canapes and live music by Leon Cunningham.
"[There's] no pressure, just come and have a dance and mingle," Mrs Hall said.
"It's like a community based thing as well, it's for everyone
