It was really disappointing to see Denis Gregory's piece in the paper today downplaying Alan Jones' comment that Scott Morrison should "shove a sock down [Jacinda Arden's] throat".

At a time when one woman a week is killed in Australia due to domestic violence and Orange has one of the highest rates of domestic violence in the state, it is very important that we don't perpetuate or condone violent language against women.
Jones has form in this regard so his comments should be read in that light.
Gregory argues that the comments were misinterpreted- yet Jones's other comments suggesting that Morrison give Ardern a 'backhander' surely confirm that this was not the case.
Gregory states that 'it's much ado about nothing'.
I'd suggest that (fortunately) he is one of the minority here.
Almost 20 advertisers have pulled their ads from his program.
Clearly they don't think it's a slip of the tongue.
