The chain will leave its store next to Cotton On in favour of Sutcliffe Meats' former shop eights stores along.
Dispensing director Conrad Porter said the new store would be double the size.
"We've always had capacity issues in terms of physical space inside," he said.
"We've got two optometry clinics at the moment and there's going to be four."
Mr Porter said the store would add audiology and optical coherence tomography, enabling staff to diagnose more conditions earlier and test hearing for the first time.
Specsavers' current store will close on Sunday, August 25 for the move and reopen at the new location on Monday, August 27.
Design to food
CHRISTINE Grayche has taken her design acumen and put it towards starting a second business.
She has established Gather & Graze, which provides savory and sweet grazing platters and tables, plus pop-up picnics for crowds of up to 1200 people.
Drawing on her One X One Interiors background, she will also provide balloon garlands and paper flower installations.
"The idea originally developed over a year ago with a focus on balloon styling," she said.
"But over time, the idea evolved to cover food and event styling."
A member of the Pro Environment Balloon Alliance, Ms Grayche said her mission was to be sustainable and source food from the area.
She said interior design would always be her priority but she enjoyed having another opportunity to be creative.
Up with the best
LA Bella Medispa's Stephanie Gough will vie to be the best in the country next week when she heads to the Dermaviduals Australasia Clinic Awards.
Ms Gough, who works mainly in skin correction, laser and facials was named a finalist in the Senior Beauty Therapist of the Year category and if successful, she will be an ambassador for the brand.
