A female cyclist has died following a collision with a car on Saturday in the state's Central West.

At approximately 9am on Saturday, a pair of cyclists were travelling west along Spring Creek Road, about 12 kilometres from Gulgong, when a utility and the female cyclist collided, knocking her to the ground.
The 52-year-old woman died at the scene while her male companion was not injured.

The driver and sole occupant of the utility, a 39-year-old man, was taken to hospital suffering shock.
Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District attended and established a crime scene.
Officers from the Bathurst Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed this incident, or who may have dashcam footage, to come forward.
With a running festival taking place today, police are reminding everyone in the Mudgee area that road diversions will be in place, with extra care needing to be taken.
