The 12 years and under age group featured at Orange Civic Theatre in the afternoon with the modern and ballet championships.
Winning the modern dance championship was Briana Priest, followed by Abbey Rowland-Jones in second, Eloise Harrison in third and Leela Kus receiving a highly commended.
Niamh Hill won the ballet championship and Abbey Rowland-Jones received another second place.
Milly Priest came third and Leela Kus received a second highly commended.
The group dance sections will be held during the weekend at Orange Civic Theatre.
Tickets are already sold out on Saturday for the juniors, starting with groups aged six years and under.
The seniors competition on Sunday, for groups aged 14 to 18 years, also expected to be busy.
Sales were restricted to six tickets per transaction due to the expected high demand.
The remaining Sunday tickets are available from the theatre box office.
The schools program began on Friday and will continue on Monday, with the dance sections set to wrap up on August 25.
The vocal and instrumental program will start on August 25 at Orange Regional Conservatorium, lasting until September 6.
