The challenge sees five CSU campuses competing to make their campus the most energy-efficient.
And this year the energy-saving challenge will be broadcast on CSU's Instagram and Facebook pages.
"We have done a media movement as part of the rebranding of CSU and we are covering the energy challenge across all the campuses in the Sustainability Series," student and sustainability adviser Beth Durham said.
The aim is to get more students involved with using energy-efficient practices on campus and to give the wider community tips on being more energy-efficient.
"Instagram is a great way to connect with students and the community," Ms Durham said.
CSU Green Team leader Gareth Johnston says the sustainability challenge is one of many programs CSU has put together to reduce carbon emissions.
"We are the first university in Australia to become carbon neutral ... We are implementing a clean energy strategy which will see a lot of solar power brought to Bathurst and will be addressing our emissions and energy cost," Mr Thompson said.
CSU Green partnership co-ordinator Michelle Wilkinson encourages all students and Bathurst locals to tune in to the series.
"There is no reason why people watching the series can't use the tips and tricks featured on the series at home and work," she said.
