THE Great Western Highway has reopened in both directions with a reduced speed limit between Mount Lambie and Meadow Flat after being closed due to snow and ice on the road.
The highway had been closed between Wallerawang Rydal Road and Range Road.
The speed limit has been reduced to 60km/h.
Motorists should continue to exercise caution and drive to the conditions, which can change quickly.
Access roads to Mount Canobolas remained closed due to thick snow and ice on Monday.
Old Canobolas Road is closed to all traffic and Lake Canobolas Road is closed from Canobolas Road to Wallace Road in the Orange City Council area.
Cabonne Council staff will inspect all closed roads today to determine when they can be reopened.
Snow and ice is still affecting other roads in the area:
- The Great Western Highway between Raglan and Marrangaroo
- Jenolan Caves Road, which is closed between Duckmaloi Road in Hampton and Jenolan Caves
- Roads in and around Oberon

SNOW and ice has again closed roads across the region with the Great Western Highway among the closures.
The cold and icy conditions from the weekend have continued into Monday with Live Traffic issuing a number of alerts to motorists.
Road closures include:
Great Western Highway, between Mount Lambie and Meadow Flat
Jenolan Caves Road, between Duckmaloi Road and Jenolan Caves.
The Great Western Highway is closed in both directions with motorists asked to delay their journeys and avoid the area this morning. The closure began just after 6am.
In Oberon, while Duckmaloi and O'Connell roads are open, some roads in the area remain closed.
"Council crews will inspect the roads this morning and an update will be posted on council's website and Facebook page," the Live Traffic alert said.
There were extensive road closures and delays during the weekend due to heavy snowfall around the region.
