The freelance writer and poet will introduce book lovers to her latest piece of fiction on Thursday.
Ms Wood said those who know her work may be surprised by this one.
I love writing stories about life and on subjects' people can relate to, stories that evoke emotion and take readers on a journey
- Leanne Wood
"It is different from my other novels," she said.
"Everyone experiences loss and experiences grief. This is about that grief and loss, hope and love, faith and miracles."
Ms Wood said The Belonging tells the story of four main characters whose lives all come together.
"I love writing stories about life and on subjects' people can relate to, stories that evoke emotion and take readers on a journey - I believe this story delivers on these points."
The Belonging addresses the idea that nobody can know who, or what, will change their life until it happens.
This idea comes to play for home healthcare worker Robert Jackson, who must re-evaluate his life after the death of his wife.
Facing an uphill battle with grief, Jackson contemplates suicide.
However, his wife's best friend Shirley refuses to let him give up.
While she pushes him to move forward, Jackson is forced to ask himself how well he really knows this caring friend.
Ms Wood will launch The Belonging at Orange City Library on Thursday at 5.30pm.
