"I've seen an increased interest in vinyl planks," she said. "Because of technology, it means people can buy something which still looks like timber and is so effective at mimicking floorboards, it integrates fine detail with grains". According to the designer, another affordable trend is laminate floors. "A number of clients have also done laminate floors as opposed to the real thing because there is more choice in colour and size. If you buy actual timber flooring, it could be two or three times the price of laminate".
Increasing in popularity is hybrid flooring which has been touted as the flooring of the future. With the best characteristics of laminate and vinyl, coupled with the appearance of timber flooring, hybrid flooring is perfect for use in warmer climates and is 100 per cent waterproof making it able to be used in every room of your home.

Remember before making decisions on floors, consider the best options for comfort and functionality for your family's needs both now and in the future.
