We have again seen nothing done on the East Fork Bridge, and I am sick and tired of hearing there's no spending on a second bridge until the southern feeder bypass is finished - what year will that be?
When people stop and ask is this the right way to the hospital and all you can say is: 'Yes, just keep going straight ahead'.
They then often ask: 'How do you get there if there's an accident in Peisley Street or on the bridge?'
As Peisley Street is the second busiest street in Orange in working hours it could happen. There was money granted for the second bridge but it wasn't enough, so it was put in the too-hard basket.
I wonder if the grant money was enough three years ago would construction on a second bridge have gone ahead then?
People have to walk on the road before and after the bridge as there is no proper footpaths to walk on. As there will soon be two hospitals out there it is a disgrace to walk from the main street to the hospitals.
